To promote lace in the region
and to attract more members, we are looking to put together an
exhibition of lace. This exhibition will travel around the
Wessex
area attending lace days, suppliers fairs, craft
exhibitions, demonstration venues. To be able to do this I am asking you
to kindly loan a piece of lave for me to use as part of this exhibition.
The lace can be of any discipline, white or coloured, traditional or
modern. Each piece of lace will be labeled with the type of lace and the
owner. It would also be useful to state a reference of where the pattern
came from ie magazine, book or your own design. To compliment the lace a
selection of bobbins would also accompany the exhibition, again in a
variety of material and both old and modern. I would like to keep these
pieces for at least 12 months depending on how many items are given and
how many times the exhibit is shown. So come on fellow lacemakers show
off your skills by loaning a piece to enable this exhibition to promote
lace in our region.
